Cecilia Trancón Loureiro, new president of the Cámara Oficial Mineira de Galicia

Cecilia Trancón Loureiro, member of the iMATUS industrial committee, as well as president of AFICEGA, and current general director of CAVISA, has been appointed president of the Cámara Oficial Mineira de Galicia by unanimous decision of its Board of Directors at an extraordinary meeting held on October 8.

In her new role, Cecilia Trancón will face important challenges, such as leading the Chamber’s centenary, which will be celebrated in 2025, a milestone to recognize the contribution of the Galician mining sector and the challenges it faces in the coming years.

During her speech after the appointment, Trancón said: “It is an honor and a responsibility to receive the unanimous support of the Board of Directors. I appreciate the trust of my colleagues and I am at their disposal to work together to give the mining industry the place it deserves in all areas of society.”

The Cámara Oficial Mineira de Galicia, which brings together the public and private interests of the mining sector, is committed to the sustainable exploitation of Galicia’s geological resources, and this approach will be key in Cecilia Trancón’s presidency. The new management will also seek to materialize various R&D&I projects through the Oficina de Impulso de Proxectos Europeos (OIPE), and will strengthen collaboration with the Administration and other entities.

From iMATUS, we congratulate Cecilia Trancón for this important achievement and we trust that her vision and leadership will contribute to the development of research in materials for industry and mining, areas in which iMATUS and the Cámara Oficial Mineira de Galicia will continue to collaborate closely.
