iMATUS joins the UNE High-Level Forum for Universities

Francisco Guitián

iMATUS, through Principal Investigator Francisco Guitián, has a voice in the UNE High-Level Forum for Universities, which promotes standardization education at the university level.

The relationship between the Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE) and Spanish universities is an alliance that brings great value to society. Universities support the standardization system by providing knowledge on standards development. In turn, standardization is a tool that facilitates the transfer of R&D&I results to society.

In this context, the 18 Spanish universities with UNE membership and the Association itself have decided to institutionally promote standardization education at the university level by creating the High-Level Forum for Universities. Standardization education is gaining increasing importance at the European and global levels. The current European standardization strategy dedicates one of its five pillars to training and is promoting actions such as holding academic days on standardization, developing training materials, and engaging professors.

Professor F. Guitián has extensive experience in standardization processes and standards-based work in industrial services, working with other IPs and iMATUS technical staff.
