VI Edition SPERTUS Seminar

The sixth meeting of the SPERTUS Seminar, organized by the National Hydrogen Center in collaboration with the University of Santiago de Compostela and the Xunta de Galicia, will take place in Puertollano on May 20, 2025. iMATUS researchers Josefa Salgado, Luis Miguel Varela, and Hadrián Montes are members of the organizing committee. The event will consist of three roundtables that will address key topics of the energy transition, such as hydrogen, energy security, industry challenges and opportunities, social impact, ethical and legal aspects, and scientific and technological issues associated with the future of the energy transition.
Attendance (in person and online) is free, subject to registration at SPERTUS Registration – May 20, 2025 – CNH2 – Puertollano.

SPERTUS is the Permanent Seminar on Energy and Industrial Transition, the first meeting of which was held in the fall of 2021 at the University of Santiago de Compostela. The initial objective was to create a think tank to stimulate reflection on the global energy scenario and its implications for the industrial sector in Spain, Portugal, and Europe. The second SPERTUS meeting was organized by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and the Basque Energy Agency (EVE) and held in Bilbao in May 2022. The third SPERTUS meeting was held in Porto in October 2022 and was organized by the University of Porto (U.Porto) in collaboration with the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC). The fourth edition of SPERTUS took place on June 16, 2023, in Madrid and will be organized by the CEU San Pablo University (USPCEU) in collaboration with the Ángel Herrera Oria Cultural Foundation (FCAHO), the University of Santiago de Compostela, and the Xunta de Galicia. The fifth will be held in Vigo on October 4, 2024, organized by the Mining Chamber of Galicia in collaboration with the University of Santiago de Compostela and the Xunta de Galicia.
